Did y'all know that James Patterson sends holiday bonuses to booksellers all over the country? I find it so touching. I worked in a bookstore for 17 years. The work they do is important and they certainly don't do it for the pay. Someday, I want to start a similar tradition.

I have been rereading Dracula for a class I'm taking in January for the first time since I was a kid. Wow! I can't wait to discuss.

I really want to read God of the Woods, but it feels like it should be on my summer reading list. Oh, the struggles of the mood reader.

I started The Bog Wife by @kaychronister.bsky.social yesterday. This one will likely be finished today. I can't put it down, and I just need to know what happens. I can't take the not knowing! #booksky

I've been rereading Red Wall. It is one of the first books I read that really got me into fantasy books as a kid, and it has been so nostalgic.

I'm also not even 50 pages in and have had to look up two words. Some of the old kids' books were no joke in terms of vocabulary. #reader

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

In November, I reread Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier for the first time since my late teens/early twenties. What a trip! I remember loving the book and all of its gothic horror splendor. I wasn't prepared for how my perspective on the protagonist would shift, and I'm ready to write a thesis on it.

This thread is a Sunday sermon.
Racists are tragically mediocre people. There is not a single human who ever existed who shared the characteristics of being extraordinary as well as being racist. Because a central driving force behind racism is an inability to cope with mediocrity

I feel like A Christmas Carol is the OG Holiday horror novel. Anyone else get this vibe?
