Busy speaking to local residents in Burnside today where it’s a huge privilege to be the Scottish Labour candidate for Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Blantyre.

The constituency is in the Glasgow parliamentary region. If you’re a member please consider giving me your 1st preference vote in the ballot.

Real frustration at declining educational standards and having to wait years for NHS treatment in today’s Cambuslang session.

After two decades of SNP failure, there’s an appetite for change - many here know that Scottish Labour is best placed to beat them and deliver that.

A state-mandated review in Ghana has proposed establishing a domestic crime of #ecocide.

If implemented, Ghana would become the first African nation to establish ecocide as a domestic crime.

This May, it’s a choice between more SNP decline or a fresh start with Scottish Labour.

Our candidate, @monicalennon.bsky.social, grew up in Blantyre and knows what matters to our communities.

With a track record of delivery, Monica will be a strong voice for Rutherglen & Cambuslang.

Lots of changes coming with new boundaries and many new candidates.

As the Scottish Labour candidate for Rutherglen & Cambuslang (which includes my hometown Blantyre) I will be standing on the Glasgow list.

Why the 2026 Holyrood election matters more than you think. 🧵

In my latest Sunday Mail column, I’m digging into the rise of Reform UK and what it means for Scotland. We can’t afford to ignore the threat of "populism" that offers easy slogans but zero solutions for the working class.
