OK, going to try and summon some clear skies by optimistically posting an #astronomy image, here's a quick few hours exposure on M13, the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules. Careful use of PixInsight preserved star color and resolved out the "propeller" in the core. 300000 stars or so. :) 📷🔭
M13, a star cluster in Hercules. The stars get more and more concentrated towards the center of the image until they are lost in a communal glow. You can just make out "the propeller" a faint three-pronged formation at the lower left of the core. And ALL THE STARS. :) iOptron 10" RC w/.65 reducer, ZWO ASI 533MC-Pro w/IR cut filter, only about 3 hours of integraton time which is all you need for an object this bright.

I've been reprocessing the data I've collected over the last year. Here are some of my best photos, reprocessed with a bit more skill. Definitely a lot that needs improved but not bad for my first year! Hopefully I'll be able to take even better photos next year!

Image of a thick, dark nebula with a mushroom-like pillar in the center. The pillar looks somewhat like the profile of a horse's head. The pillar and dark nebula are lit from behind by the red-pink glow of ionized hydrogen. At the bottom left, part of the nebular cloud is lit up in a brilliant blue-white by the presence of a large nearby star. The rest of the image is dotted with other young blue stars. A large rainbow-colored diffraction artifact is intruding into the photo from the left. A large spiral galaxy in a field of stars. The arms of the galaxy are a light purple color. The galaxy gently fades into a yellow hue towards the center, with dark lanes of brownish dust obscuring parts of the arms. The nucleus glows a bright yellow-white. A photo of a large spiral galaxy. The arms are somewhat indistinct and subtle, but two major ones can be made out. Dark dust lanes snake their way through the arms like veins. Several large pink clumps dot the face of the disk, each one a vast star-forming region hundreds to thousands of lightyears across. The center of the galaxy glows with a soft pale yellow light. The outer regions are a dimmer bluish-purple. Many foreground stars are also present, all of which are much closer than the Triangulum galaxy and sit within the Milky Way, just happening to be between the viewer and the galaxy behind them. The Moon during a total Lunar eclipse. The rightmost part of the Moon is tinted a deep red, gradually transitioning into a lighter orange and finally a pale yellow towards the left edge.

This is comet 3I/ATLAS, an interstellar visitor not bound to our Sun, just passing through before continuing its journey.
Only the 3rd such object known. I pushed my small telescope and camera to their limits.

Astrophotograph of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, first detected in 2025 by the ATLAS survey. 3I/ATLAS is special because it is only the third confirmed interstellar object ever observed passing through our Solar System. Its hyperbolic path shows it is not bound to the Sun’s gravity and will leave after this one-time visit. Capture details: 130/900 mm Newtonian + Sony A7S, 45 minutes total. The mount tracked to cancel Earth’s rotation. I shot 10 s frames and stacked them aligned on the comet, so the stars form trails from the comet’s motion against the background sky.
