I’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people fix Ruby and gem installation issues over the past 13 years. Here are 4 things that can prevent what I see over and over:
1. A proper Ruby dev environment (rubyonmac.dev makes this super easy)

Are you getting an OpenSSL error "certificate verify failed (unable to get certificate CRL)" in your Ruby projects?
Cause: updating OpenSSL to 3.6.0 (e.g. via Homebrew)
Fix: Add the openssl gem to your project and set it to the latest compatible version

Ultimate version 2.2.0 allows skipping the Node installation and management: rom script --skip=node
Coming tonight: Ultimate version 2.3.0 adds support for Mise, built by @jdx. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was, especially for fish.
