Funny, we all dressed up as movie characters. #whodaguessed
This may be the coziest trailer for the coziest month of movies at the @newbeverly.bsky.social. My wife and I have never seen While You Were Sleeping in a theater together and we could perform every part of shadow cast for it. But we’d probably fight over who go to do Joe Jr., so we will refrain.

I just saw THE MINOR KEY a new horror short by @lucaswiththelidon.bsky.social debut at the LA International Film Festival at The Million Dollar Theater and holy crap do movies of all lengths play so much better on a HUGE screen. Way to go Lucas!!! #theminorkey

I’m super excited that @thesoniashow.bsky.social is joining @riskeadam.bsky.social for a new @fthismovie.bsky.social regular column and that they’re talking about my most anticipated movie of the holiday season: @edgarwright.bsky.social ‘s THE RUNNING MAN!!!

I hope that there is never a Hirokazu Kore-eda @screendrafts.bsky.social draft because it is probably against the rules to draft seven different movies in the number one spot.

Here’s a red letter date in the history of my marriage, November 5th, 2025. For our anniversary my wife surprised me by taking me to the Twin Pines Mall (the Puente Hills Mall) to see BACK TO THE FUTURE! Neither of us have seen it in a theater in 40 years & it plays so much better on a big screen!!!

A classic ending for Reserved Seating. Thank you @riskeadam.bsky.social and TV’s Rob DiCristino for tons of great movie recs and movie talk, and even more laughs. Thursday mornings just won’t be the same. (And when you do a 10-years reunion ep, I hope it will be a Catch Me If You Can Title Match.)

Been driving around a lot lately with my teen and listing to her Spotify Halloween mix: and nothing on it feels one tenth as Halloween as Ian Hunter’s “Good Man in a Bad Time.”

This is why I’ve cried at the end of this movie, the last 3 times I’ve seen it.
Family isn’t about blood. It’s the bonds that are forged through shared experiences.

Loved OPPOSABLE THUMBS! Looking forward to the next book, whatever it will be.
I loved One Battle After Another’s ending on first viewing, but the second time around I realized *how much* is going on in that scene beyond it being a really great car chase. So I had to write something about the brilliance of The River of Hills
The River of Hills: ‘One Battle After Another’ and the Best Ending of 2025
Take a trip to the river of hills.

My favorite Drew Struzan poster is ADEVENTURES IN BABYSITTING. After paying for the “poster,” Disney also paid for the original artwork for their archives, then 19 years later was purging their archives and were going to trash the original. But the guy in charge knew Struzan and gave it back to him.
