Can we stop subjecting Olympic figure skaters to the most brutal questions possible after their programs? Watching athletes try to process trauma while getting flayed alive by NBC is not entertaining, it’s grueling. #MilanoCortina2026 #FigureSkating

NBC is severely underestimating the amount of Stanley Tucci coyly galavanting around Milan I can handle #MilanoCortina2026 #WinterOlympics

Watching Hocus Pocus on Freeform. While I’ve had it on in the background around Halloween, I haven’t actually sat down and watched it in years.

It does a great job of grounding a fantastical story in the real world. For example, Northeasterners dragging a Californian kid at every opportunity: real!

Disabled people are not getting a free ride.

They’re not stealing your tax dollars.

The process to get approved is dehumanizing & painful. It’s designed to make you quit.

You sacrifice your autonomy, dignity and independence for a benefit that forces you to live in legislated poverty.

It’s really a shame that @espn.com hid the #USOpen Men’s Doubles Final behind the paywall that is ESPN+, because that was a GREAT match. Especially in a tournament that’s had so many games that felt like shutouts. And everyone deserves to see Alcaraz jumping around for his boys! Come on!!

there is something about the number of leos and geminis in professional tennis that is fascinating me right now.

i love when @espn.com shows someone in the crowd and the announcers don’t comment on who it is. because then i get to play my #USOpen mini game: Is That an Actor I Don’t Know or Is That Just a New Yorker

Sure, a few rowdy crowd members is very New York. But so is the chorus of “SSSHHHHH!!!” after every out-of-pocket shout. #USOpen

A few of Fritz’s serves have looked very Roddick-like. Just rockets hitting the perfect spot. #USOpen

John McEnroe admonishing a player for a bad attitude is absolutely my favorite thing in the world. Sir, do you know…who you are? #USOpen

waiter, sympathetically: would you like to order any food while you wait?

me, with just half-finished glass of wine, staring across the table: no, i’m sure the white house will be here soon

Netflix just gave Gavin Newsom 2 million for the redistricting fight and made a deal with Sesame Street. New episodes will air there and the backlog of old episodes will Be free to watch.

Netflix picked a side. I will keep my subscription.

something beautiful about tennis is that John McEnroe will always be John McEnroe. he’s not predictable, but everything he says makes you go, “that’s exactly what you WOULD say, John McEnroe!” #usopen

I was quoted in this @teenvogue.com article about mask bans and the harm they pose for the disability community.

This is the kind of inclusive journalism Teen Vogue has been doing for years.

If Bezos purchases them, it’ll be the end to stories about disability, trans rights, immigrant rights etc:
Mask Bans Are an Insult to Disabled People and Protesters Alike
The bans threaten disabled people and protesters alike.

if i quit my job, the space doesn’t…go away? it doesn’t punish the NYT? and i have to imagine that the calls to quit my job won’t end if i go to some other, equally compromised publication. so no, i have a large, influential platform and i will continue to try to use it as responsibly as i can

Jamelle Bouie is one of the best writers in the country. Period. At anything. The things people say to him, usually with a huff of self-satisfied indignation, are *unbelievable*.

Believing your cause to be just is not a ticket to treat other people however you want.
