Why would my library system order the second book in a series, but not the first? Because they are dumb. That is my only explanation.

Been on here too long to remember if my original post got liked, but what the hey. Just posting to complain that my “no-work” bread stuck to the bottom of the enameled cast iron pot for the first time, and it’s making me sad. ☹️ 🍽️

Well kids, the phrase of the night here in Raleigh is “we’re gonna need a bigger vacuum!” 🙀 Some kind of mutant grasshopper bug took up residence on our wall, and we had to use the shop vac to get it. We did try to rescue it by flicking it out on the lawn. Not sure it worked tho.

Is it too much to ask for an evening where my young adult kid doesn’t have a crisis of his own making? I just want to relax and enjoy some free time. But no. F&&ing A, man.

Carrying the pain today of not being able to help my child see that life isn’t hopeless and that dulling the pain with things I rather they wouldn’t isn’t a solution. I’m struggling with how not to let their emotions drive mine and not feel angry that their behavior makes my happiness difficult.
