#BoardGames night: Escape Plan. Our second Lacerda game in as many weeks, and it's another banger. The cops are on to us. Scour the city, secure your stashed money, and GTFO with more cash than your fellow criminals. Much lighter weight than our usual fare, great theme, 9/10 for me.

#BoardGames night: Escape Plan. Our second Lacerda game in as many weeks, and it's another banger. The cops are on to us. Scour the city, secure your stashed money, and GTFO with more cash than your fellow criminals. Much lighter weight than our usual fare, great theme, 9/10 for me.
#boardgames night: Speakeasy with three players. Better worker placement than my beloved Dune Imperium? I'm not sure, but it's up there. Less cutthroat, no deck building, but much tighter. Every move counts, and there are no easy points.

Played Cross Bronx Expressway and wow, that absolutely killed the considerable desire I had to own the game. Take a decent COIN game. Add unfun taxes at the end of every eight turns. Not too bad, right? Just a little upkeep? Sure. Now add player-triggered weaponized taxes. #boardgames

Highlight: Vijayanagara on Rally the Troops
I'd be okay never playing Ahoy, Kinfire Chronicles, Terraforming Mars and Pagan Fate of Roanoke again.
TM's popularity is inexplicable to me. Kinfire is just meh, and Ahoy's central conflict just doesn't intrigue me.

#boardgames night: Kinfire Council. Very mid worker placement. If players start critically analyzing mechanisms during play, it's a sign they're not enjoying it. There's a way to score mega points, and once you figure that out, all other scoring methods seem like a waste of time and effort.
