MPD is enormously short-staffed and the situation is getting worse by the day. They can barely keep up with the regular bout of shootings. They gave up investigating property crimes a while back. Don't expect them to wade into federal cases.

I really don't get the left's obsession with Bari. Yeah, she's pro-Israel. Otherwise she's a normal 1990s liberal, which nowadays is called center-right. Does she "deserve" her promotion? Heck, does anyone? CBS News was in the toilet for ratings, so give her a shot. And yeah, Nellie rocks.

Celebrating the solstice by finally getting some winter sowing done. Some of the seeds are old, so my expectations are low. Whatever comes up is good.

Monarch butterflies migrate like birds. And at night, they like to roost in groups. I was lucky enough to see this flock settle into the tree at sundown.

Got this at Memorial Blood Center (Richfield) for attempting to donate. Good at any location. They only HAVE one location - in Nordeast. Plus, I had the trainee, so didn't actually give blood, though do have a colorful bruise. Well, another day.

Do you know which breeder they came from? I used to buy from a guy in Wisconsin, only to find out they actually came from Texas. And they were mean.
