Terrific episode again with Michael & Jack great guests and nice to hear Colin Hay get a mention. I’m a big fan of Billy Joel but not this particular song. Thanks the shout out guys!
Episode 2 Season 2 is out! It's our pleasure to welcome Michael & Jack of the great Billy Joel podcast "Glass Houses" to discuss "We Didn't Start the Fire". Further great tunes by The Box, 10,000 Maniacs, CCCP and Curtis Mayfield. Here's the Spotify link

D’OH!! No more Blackadder!
But in its place we have The Simpsons, and Ian and Michael are back to start another podcast obsession.
Great first episode, and I think we’re on a winner @ianwinick.bsky.social @mocca1976.bsky.social

The Simpsons podcast I never knew I needed in my life. Ian and Michael left us all devastated by wrapping up their Blackadder podcast, so it's great to have them back yacking about a different show! ❤️
To kick things off, we revisit the first series, complete with its wonky animation, quaint storylines and Homer sounding like Walter Matthau on sedatives.

And this month’s Spotlight On Springfield shines a light on Troy McLure, who you might know from such …

Well, this crept up on me. Bang! Back for another season and starting with a classic REM track. Looking forward to another entertaining season from the lads. More field trips please 😆
We're back! Season 2 Episode 1 is here...
And we discuss superb songs by REM, The Pasadenas, Al Stewart, Elli et Jacno, and Jane & Jeff Hudson.

Oh, and a field trip of the charity shops of Wanstead to investigate the rumours of an REM reunion. Seriously.

A brilliant run of 5 episodes in this lot. Humbug is a personal favourite with a rating of 6/5. Brilliantly directed and acted. The two alien conspiracy episodes also keep the narrative moving along nicely to the epic conclusion……of series 2.
Tune in to episode 11 of my 'Revisiting The X Files' podcast, where we check out some excellent episodes, 16 to 20, of Season 2. Some beauties in this lot!

What a lovely episode “love” was. Really enjoyed hearing everyone’s story of love ❤️. Now onto the “Comfort” episode 😀
It's been a rough few weeks since losing my Dad but I think things have turned a corner. I'm finally able to bring you the last two episodes of this series of The Sound Of.
Will there be another? Not sure yet but this season is ready to binge.

What a pleasant surprise to hear The Stranglers song “Nuclear Device” get a run on this week’s episode. Being an Aussie, I know this song well and its meaning. The opening refrain is from another famous traditional Australian song “Waltzing Matilda”
Episode 19 of Bang! is out. Our countdown (for season 1) is almost done. Tracks 93 to 97 are big. The Stranglers, Heaven 17, Morrisey, The Sound, Level 42 all feature. As does a film review. And our plans for... erm... Season 2! Join us!

Another fantastic episode of @thesoundofcmoffatt.bsky.social. A really interesting mix of music and stories all around Turmoil.
In some added Turmoil this week I've been notified that the show has earned its first copyright strike!

I suggest listening to the unexpurgated episode ASAP in case they don't accept my response and I'm forced to remove and edit it.

Loved that this week’s episode featured two of my favourite tracks from two great artists. Genesis with Land of Confusion and Talking Heads with Life During Wartime. Both cracking songs and another cracking episode.
Episode 17 is out! Happy Diwali everyone. We look at artists who featured on day 1 of MTV broadcasting. The Buggles, Fischer-Z, Genesis, The Vapors and Talking Heads all up for discussion (even though @pankp007.bsky.social has a cold).

As indicated from your scores @metalkevin.bsky.social , a bit of a mixed bag in this lot of five with Accession being the clear favourite which started my love of Nick Cave music. Next 5 also a mixed bag IMHO, before we start a strong run to the finish of Season 2.
Here is Episode 9 of Revisiting The X Files, discussing episodes 6 to 10 of Season 2, as well as some listener feedback and other rambling. Enjoy! The Truth is Out There! #TheXFiles #RevisitingTheXFiles

Strong start to Series 2. I think Host is my favourite out of this bunch of 5. One of the first really weird monster Eps I recall. Next bunch of 5 has Ascension which introduced me to Nick Cave! Thanks for another entertaining episode, Bill.

Another very enjoyable episode of @thesoundofcmoffatt.bsky.social. I’m sure everyone has a story of their own when it comes to “Independence”.
This week's stand out, standalone episode of The Sound Of is all about The Sound Of Independence!

I design all these album covers myself btw. I feel like I put more effort into them than the podcast itself.

Another thoroughly enjoyable episode. It’s great fun listening to the other guests to see if their “Firsts” follow a similar link to mine or if they are completely different. Great listening.
And we're back!
For this season I have designed album covers for each episode (please be kind)

Could be my favourite episode so far (apart from the down-under one of course!) Great songs and a great guest. I’d never heard of the movie, Threads, but was riveted to the conversion as the movie sounds rather disturbing and obviously left a deep impression on people who watched it in the 80s.
Episode 15 is out! Our v. special guest is author, journalist & "Threads" obsessive Chas Newkey-Burden who discusses this horrifying film. 5 fab tunes too, from Modern English, Billy Idol, Microdisney, Eurythmics & The Dubliners. Join us & @allthatchas.bsky.social

It was wonderful to hear Bill and Jessica talk about Jessica’s favourite episodes. Always great to hear the different generations share a love of something in common. Hambug and Anasazi are right up near the top for me as well.
On today's episode I invite my eldest daughter Jessica onto the program, to discuss her own journey with The X Files and her favourite episodes. Jess is as entertaining as she always is with some candid responses. Enjoy!

Hard to argue with your rankings at the end Bill. Particular the ones in the “S” category. Erlenmeyer Flask would be my number 1 as well. James Wong and Glen Morgan were excellent writers for the X-Files. Really looking forward to Season 2 as there are some absolute classics.
Today's sixth episode is a wrap up of the first season of The X Files, where I will talk about the character developments, the writing teams, the direction, and countdown my ranking of the episodes from 24 to 1.

Heavy traffic on the ring road today meant I had ample time in the car to listen to parts 1 and 2.

Wonderful and fascinating guests and looking forward to the next “sound of”
It's finally here!
With 7 amazing guests and several months of hard work this is absolutely not how podcasts are usually made.
I think that once you listen you'll agree with me that it's something quite special.
The opening episode is so jam packed it had to be split in two!
