The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

As the bill moves to the Senate, Democrats have a responsibility to draw a line. Putting actual guardrails on ICE is the bare minimum here. Allowing Trump’s brutal secret police force to operate with essentially a blank check is unacceptable.

Yet somehow, he’s now claiming that “paid protesters” need to fall in line or he will invoke the Insurrection Act and “put an end to it.” He claims what’s happening in Minneapolis is an “insurrection,” while January 6th was treated as an unaccompanied tour. The goal is to control the narrative.

There are a lot of people who are worried and feel like the country is falling into complete darkness. Trump makes threats because he thinks the resistance is scared of him, but we aren’t. This administration sent ICE into Minneapolis to terrorize the community.

@mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social It is getting worse. Everyday citizens are being terrorized and undocumented folks, whether they should be here or not are being treated like animals. Day after day pulled from cars and beaten. We are being occupied. Why isn't there more outrage about this on the hill?

Here's the thing... We don't know anything because it's not a plan. It's just manipulation of the media and people who don't pay attention. We are not obligated to report everything he says as news like he was a normal president.

@schiff.senate.gov We have so many major things to worry about right now but we need to stop whatever is happening to the White House property. It's too late to stop demolition but we need to get to the bottom of construction and approvals and hold them accountable. This is sickening. Not his house!
