The amount of work to rebuilt platforms and reach listeners, readers, writers—it is so much. What a burden. What a senseless burden.

On the one hand, I should be writing and doing submissions. On the other hand, I just got so many rejections in a row, I might rather hide under a rock for a bit. Or sit by the lake.

Far too many libraries' Banned Books Week displays will present these book challenges as petty nuisances rather than active, growing threats to democracy. Libraries are being defunded, receiving bomb threats, librarians being fired; our usual approach with caution tape ain't gonna do justice. 📚
