That parenthetical is giving real “once and future” energy. Fool so foolish he thought he could change it forever. They’re placating you, fool. You’re a clown, fool.

My most recent review for the Minnesota Star Tribune finds much to admire in MINOR BLACK FIGURES, a worthy addition to Brandon Taylor's exceptional bibliography. If you like it half as much as I did, you'll love it.

Review: An artist and his would-be boyfriend are ‘Minor Black Figures’
Fiction: Booker finalist Brandon Taylor returns with a sensational novel about art, God and modern love.

So wait, I can’t be in the military now because I have a beard!?! 😭😭😭😩😩😩

(I’m also a pleasantly portly gentleman with a interest in things like peace and the Posse Comitatus Act and like not obeying illegal orders, so yeah, it probably wasn’t going to work out anyway)

In my socialist utopia, there are no toll roads, and all the highways stay silky smooth because most of the travelers are on the world’s fastest and swankiest bullet trains.

Also: healthcare for all.

When I look at certain strains of white evangelical Christianity, I think “I bet those people think everyone in heaven is white.”

I mean, what you hate on earth could not exist in the heaven of your imagination…

Okay, if the rapture didn’t happen, doesn’t that also mean the seven years of trials and tribulations in the wake of the rapture ain’t happening?

Like, can we dial down the trials and tribulations?

Yes to Farm Aid. AND (2 questions, please): (1) are we talking clearly about why farmers need aid in this moment? And (2) what, if anything is or can be done to get farmers to see this as a sea change moment, to get them to vote with us (instead of against us)?

How Farm Aid actually helps Minnesota farms
The 40-year-old organization’s fundraising concert is Saturday at Huntington Bank Stadium, but the group also provides a crucial hotline and grants that are needed as much as ever by farmers in crisis...

Very sad to hear about the shooting at Evergreen High School in Denver today. There are three young people in critical condition whose lives (if they survive) will never be the same. Sensible gun laws now!

Among the many sad things about the horrific shootings in Minneapolis today is they may become a pretext for sending (again) the National Guard here.

But only that, a pretext, not an actual or valid reason. To be clear, there’s nothing the National Guard could have done to stop these shootings.

Thank you. ♥️

I am probably noticing your hands. I’m probably looking at them. Not in a fetishistic way - please don’t. I don’t mean anything by it. I’m drawn to people’s hands in a narrative way; they’re full of stories.
