We wrote letters to Gordon in grade 5 where we each had to ask him at least one question and he mailed back a response to our teacher with an answer to each kid's question. We were star-struck 10 year olds! His Island series were my favourite books growing up.
Happy birthday to Gordon Korman, born on this day in Montreal in 1963!
One of Canada's most successful children's authors, he has sold over 30 million books in his career. He has written over 100 books in his career, many of which became #1 best-sellers.

The most annoying thing about having a daughter is people telling you that it's going to suck. For some reason people seem to hate hearing that we enjoy our little girl. I don't care if the teen years might be rough, right now it is fucking awesome.

On Sept. 30, 1958, Canadian children were treated to a new show.
It featured a giant who told them to "look up!...waaaaaay up!"
For the next 27 years, the show was a fixture on CBC and is beloved to this day.
This is the story of The Friendly Giant!

My daughter had minor hip dysplasia at birth that went undiagnosed for too long which caused motor delays. We've been in physio since July and tonight she walked 5 independent steps 😭

If the 70 Mile Yard Sale is not your jam, may I suggest PEI Open Farm Day to you. It takes place September 21st and there are lots of options in central Queens and Prince County if you want to avoid the eastern traffic. We did Island Honey Wine in Wheatley River last year and had a great day.

So somebody stole a bottle of vodka from The Blue Goose and they posted their security footage to fb asking if people could identify the thief and the account from the Montague Legion was all like, "It's this chick" and posted her name. How PEI of them😃

My mat leave ends in 2 weeks and I am back to work September 2nd. I feel like a kid going for their first day of school again, so I bought myself some new clothes, makeup and a lunch bag.

I am still stuffed up, so I thought a few hours by the sea might do me well in my current state.

My daughter was in daycare for one week and already caught a cold which she passed on to me. So it begins.

Started looking into moving east of Charlottetown to be closer to both sets of parents, but seeing houses that were $100,000 in 2018/2019 for sale at $450,000 makes me want to stay where I am.

I feel like everytime we call our parents they are always telling us about somebody they know being sick or dying. What a relief it was for my husband to call his dad yesterday on his birthday and his only news was that the playground in Little Pond is done and it looks nice.

My daughter starts daycare tomorrow and I am in a glass case of emotion.

My favourite thing about August is that it is just one month away from September.

Couldn't get back to sleep early this morning so I am googling ideas for kids Halloween costumes. Last year she was a lobster, not sure what to make her this year.

Watching the Trainwreck episode about Rob Ford and cannot help but weep at the fact that the timeline we live in never allowed for Chris Farley to portray Ford. Farley would have killed it.

Dad had surgery yesterday to have a stent put in and he's feeling a better, but will be in the hospital for at least a few more days.
Since somebody couldn't be bothered to train or restrain their unleashed dog from running after people on the confederation trail, my dad is in the hospital with a bruised kidney because the dog knocked him off of his bicycle.
