Another example of writing from the pre-columbian western hemisphere. This is Rongorongo from Easter Island, completely undeciphered but was in production until the early 19th century.

Another example of a pre-columbian writing method from north of Mexico. This is the Belo Cozad letter. It's a letter sent to to Belo Cozad from his parents while he was at the Carlisle Indian School in PA. It is a written version of plains sign language. He was able to read this without assistance.

This is Mi'kmaw/Lnu logographic writing known as Gomgwejui'gasit. One of the few pre-columbian writing systems from north of Mexico. Pretty cool stuff.
