At TEAL have recently been looking at what schools typically offer in terms of maternity or family leave benefits. I am delighted that today we have officially launched a significantly enhanced package of support, which we will apply for all leave that commenced from 1 September 2024.

Important FYI. Ofqual have confirmed that students will be given equation sheets for physics, maths and combined science until 2027.
Apparently 95% of respondents to the consultation were pro equation sheets for physics!

Ofqual will change its rules to require exam boards to provide students with formulae and equations sheets for GCSE mathematics, physics and combined science exams in 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Best education blog post I've read in years. Exceptionally developed thinking. Emma's point teachers planning see delivery end and the big picture is so insightful. In a world in which more and more of the big picture is being outsourced this, in a standout piece, is particularly brilliant.

My @schoolsweek.bsky.social piece on curriculum reviews. If we learn from 35 yrs of them, we might avoid the ever-recurring problems. But without strong subject-curricular training, espec for senior/system leaders, the finest rubric will still feed old distortions.
