I wish people in the PC building community still understood that buying top of the line makes you a sucker. People used to get made fun of for jumping on the latest shit and that was back when things were actually pretty big upgrades year over year.

I'm sure the dem establishment will take absolutely zero lessons from last night but at the very least if you're a democrat who is elected or running for office you should fire anyone on your team who is in any way associated with any Third Way consulting groups.

maybe it's just that Mozilla's implementation of it wasn't good but I cannot fathom actually WANTING tab grouping. I try to move a tab and suddenly it's trying to merge with another tab instead of just moving where I wanted it? No. Stop. Just move like you used to.

I've been on Linux for over a month at this point, and I gotta say...
I have been able to do everything I could do on Windows, sometimes better than on Windows. Sometimes things need a tweak or two, but aside from that? Really good.

I am increasingly convinced that finance degrees and STEM degrees should include a high level ethics course as a requirement, like something you would not be able to pass with chatgpt.

I really wish the KDE Plasma system tray allowed you to reorganize the order of the icons. The order is kind of random and nonsensical in a way that doesn't feel great. I want to group similar utils with each other, so like network & bluetooth devices should be next to each other, etc.

if AI was actually transformative they wouldn't need to force it into everything in some vague hope that people are going to get used to using it enough that they'll actually miss it whenever the tech industry moves on to the next big grift.

Reading college textbooks gave me major reading aversion and I often find it difficult to keep my eyes on more than a few sentences at a time. It sucks, and I want to fix it somehow.

fretting over whether I can use an IDE for commercial projects and then realizing how would they even know. I mean I guess CLion you're supposed to pay for but again how would they even know.
but also I'm just gonna use qt creator since it has filters and clion don't afaict.

tbqh I think that if Fedora included a way to install multimedia codecs and nvidia drivers in the installer it would probably be my go-to recommendation for new Linux users (as a new Linux user).
