Ik word onnozel van hoe Vlaamse media over de EU bericht geeft. Neen, chat control is niet 'geschrapt door de EU'. De EU is niet één institutie die dingen zomaar kan voorstellen en schrappen. En dat zal dus niet voor morgen zijn.

Long time since I ranted about something political here but here it goes: the Flemish gov has decided to underinvest in Flemish education in Brussels. This withholds funds to VUB and EhB - excellent university institutions that have made an important effort in offering innovative educational paths.

I hope Greta Thunberg lives long enough to receive her nobel price for peace even though she isn’t doing all of this for flowers. We should all feel humbled by her and all humanitarians across the board. I dont think I have other words besides we should all rethink our place in this world.

Mijn 5-jarig nichtje heeft ook begrepen dat meer bouwen en niet een huurplafond de oplossing is. Nu lokale politici die hun kiesvee niet willen verliezen aan het ongemak van bouwprojecten nog en dan komt het goed jongens.

Mooi interview met Jacinda Arden in The Guardian. “I think the rehumanisation of people in public life is really important.” Ik schreef eerder deze week in mijn Substack over hoe belangrijk empathie is in de politiek. Het is healing om diezelfde gedachtegang van zo’n grote mevrouw te lezen.
