In my Chinese primary school, we learned about Marie Curie fighting sexism in science. Meanwhile, Hollywood sold girls the dream of being fashion designers — a borderline scam of a career path.

5 years ago, I wrote about how blood diamond monopoly De Beers tried to kill lab diamonds by undercutting them with cheap, low-quality lab diamond jewelry: www.cs.toronto.edu/~ming/422_es...

That plan failed. Miserably. 🥳

My dad scored ~70 on a primary school IQ test. He later ranked in the top 30 out of 1M in one of the hardest Gaokao exams and has been a VP at multiple Fortune 500 companies.

Whenever people say IQ tests are fair and objective, I just tell them this story.

Bf: The Aztecs didn't speak Spanish. It was the Spanish colonizers who massacred them that did.

And this is my biggest issue with the anti-consumption movement: Instead of showing how consuming less & saving more helps the economy and environment, it defaults to tEmU bAd takes—while fashion brands, magazines, and Hollywood are the real ones manufacturing demand.

I've always felt Temu & Amazon get undue hate for selling fast fashion, when the real culprits are fashion brands. They're the ones brainwashing consumers into thinking that constantly buying new clothes is somehow a form of self-empowerment.

Some funny highlights:

1. Instead of establishing a promised Bitcoin strategic reserve, Trump formed a committee to decide whether to not sell digital assets the government already owns.

2. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) blatantly pumped & dumped on X, pretending to announce a Bitcoin reserve.
