Itchin’ like a man on a fuzzy tree
At uni I chatting to friends about how David Bowie used to be in The Snowman, in a short bit of the film where it was clear that the animation was Bowie’s reminiscences. They looked at me like I dropped from the sky. I hope now it’s been reintroduced that this is the only occasion they think of me.

Decorated the Living room. Before and after: moving in day vs now.

Making a macrame plant hanger and it’s tying me in knots.

No, really, it’s annoying the heck out of me. I’ve made them before, easy, could do it in my sleep. Today? Nope. Hate string. Hate tangles. Hate plants. Hate gravity.

Hello, I’m looking for some friendly nerd guidance, please.

I’d like to run some LED strip grow lights across my shelves where I raise my veg seedlings. How do I connect the LED ribbon to a power source? Would like a mixture of full spectrum and blurple.

In a different millennium, I worked in car insurance covering the Pennines, and one winter we suddenly had a huge spike of cars hitting sheep, and it turned out that one council switched from salt to a salt/molasses mix, which the sheep thought was delicious, so they crowded the roads to eat it.
This is a fun story about how salt stops roads from icing up, and how we could do it better — like using cheese brine on roads in Wisconsin 🧪 www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-... by @meghanbartels.bsky.social on Scientific American

This week my plans include making a truly ridiculous number of Yorkshire puddings.

Today I am making pyjamas and mince pies. These are the days that feel most like life to me.

I haven’t been able to watch TV without subtitles since I was about 15. I don’t know what it is, but it isn’t my hearing. I have ‘exceptional hearing’ according to the doctor at the hospital, but something gets lost between hearing the words and making out what they’re saying.

I’m already craving Christmas ghost stories.

In the past three days I have made hot cross buns and mince pies. I have no idea what time of year it is, but it’s definitely being time (the buns were a request from my 8 year old, and the pies were to test the batch of mincemeat I made a few weeks ago).

Hello hello.

Currently decorating the dining room so everything is everywhere, and untidy house = untidy mind, but hopefully will find a date for the flooring to be put in soon.

Then it’ll be time to hang wallpaper. The best bit.

Every morning a magpie comes to my open window to say hello.

It makes me feel such joy and honour that not only do I crave seeing nature, but that nature wants to be around me (and possibly steal my earrings).

Got a jury duty summons yesterday. Didn’t exactly light up my day.

I’ve got some berries out of the freezer to make some jam, and whilst I thaw and macerate those in sugar I am making some spiced pastry patties to freeze.

Have not started any sewing prep yet because I was expecting g the boys to be out of the house for a few hours but those plans were cancelled.

Finished a project that was overstaying its welcome because the pattern wasn’t very good so I had to do a lot to make it ‘work’. Now I’m going to make something fun. A top for me, some place settings and napkins and cushions for the dining table on and I may English Paper Piece a laptop sleeve. 🧶🧵🪡

Good morning! My arms were not that sore when I went to bed.

Today, however, they are hung limply by my sides and I could not wave at you if I tried.

Good morning!

Today I have my ‘flu shot and Covid booster, so please brace yourself for tomorrow’s tweets about how I, a side sleeper, could not sleep on either sore arm.

I’m glad autumn is here. It’s more comfortable and relaxed than summer, but due to the messy weather this year my favourite summer make of 2023 don’t get nearly enough wear 😅

🪡 Fully pattern matched as well! 🧵

Hopefully it still fits next summer 🤞🏼

So, how do I find my painting, sewing, writing, making, baking, knitting, sculpting, creative peeps on here? Where are the gardeners and the collectors at? Where do I find the little enclave of artists and authors? Where is the secret hideaway of people who grow their own garlic and make jam?

On the slim chance I end up with a bit of free time I may make another batch of these. Omnomnomasaurs.
