The MiG-21 "Fishbed" is from a forgotten time of when Soviet made fighters made the US sweat. Though incomparable, the MiG-21 and F-4 were equally met adversaries in their own regards.
The F-4 could go fast but the MiG-21 could turn tight.

Russia's initial jet fighters after WW2, the MiG-9 and Yak-15, were dogwater because they utilized copies of the Me-262's Jumo jet engine as well as having straight wing designs.

TIL the US tried to modernize the B-29. It is called the B-50 Superfortress.
Better engines, better payload, and the addition of potentially a single 20mm to defensive turrets.
