if that HIGNFY Euan Blair fuckup had been about a right-winger it'd have had full front-page scandal coverage in the Mail followed by frontpage coverage across the board for the next week, days of "BBC in crisis" headline coverage by the BBC, and parliamentary questions about Tim Davie's future

Coverage of idiots claiming ‘betrayal’ or ‘surrender’ isn’t just bad journalism, it’s a dereliction of our duty to explain things. I’d actually forgotten just how bad it got but here we are, straight back to treating liars & spivs like authorities of equal weight to experts & honest brokers.

Leaving the ECHR won’t do anything to stop small boats.
But it *will* compromise the Good Friday Agreement, lead to the suspension of essential parts of the Brexit Deal and put us alongside Belarus & Russia as the only European nations outside the treaty.

Telling that Starmer's response focused on the tweets about Jess Phillips rather than himself. Systems and policies matter, but never underestimate the importance of having a genuinely decent human being in charge.
