Today we won a big victory in Texas but the fight for democracy is not over. We all need to steel ourselves for the battles ahead. We won't win them all, but we can never lose sight of what we need to do to prepare fee and fair elections.

It looks like Democrats in Virginia swept Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General. If they keep the House of Delegates it clears the way for them to redistrict. And the victories were by a larger margin than predicted.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
