If someone feels the need to protect themselves, I support that, especially when it’s done with responsible gun safety in mind. We should all want a world where no one feels threatened because of who they are, but until then, feeling empowered and prepared matters. www.npr.org/2025/11/15/n...
More liberals, people of color and LGBTQ Americans say they're buying guns out of fear
The image of gun ownership in America has been white, rural and Republican, but that's been changing as more liberals and minorities have been buying guns, especially after the 2024 election.

I’m partnering with the Madison Heights Food Pantry to host an emergency food drive to help our neighbors who won’t be receiving SNAP benefits this November. Many families will need extra support to put food on the table — please consider donating non-perishable food items to help those in need.

I’m proud to have delivered $3.4 million in direct investments for our district — including $2.5 million to help Hazel Park purchase a new ladder fire truck. I also worked with Senator Paul Wojno to secure $900,000 for upgrades to Warren’s Public Safety Dispatch Center.

Fostering saves lives! Whether it’s long-term or a short stay through safety net programs, giving animals a safe home makes all the difference. That’s why earlier this week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to support foster volunteers with a tax credit.

This announcement feels premature. House Democrats haven’t seen the details. You’ll need our votes to pass it, and I’ll be a no if it includes cuts to revenue sharing. Those cuts are a big reason our property taxes are already high.
