ARC says Discovery Projects outcomes will be tomorrow (Tuesday). Linkage Projects (2025, round 1) on Wed. Over past ~year, it's often been at about 11am (Canberra).

My bot will pick up the change to RMS & post immediately.

ARC should email outcomes to lead CIs, but might take an 1hr or so for DPs

Thanks to all the co-authors and especially @mikegeoarch.bsky.social for the vote of confidence to do some of the microarchaeological analysis. I believe this is my first paper analysing an arid environment site!

The eldest concentrating on the novel task of scraping a thin layer of ice off the car windscreen this morning (with my staff card). We don’t get many frosts here but it was bloody cold this morning in the Adelaide Hills

This was originally a poultiggery. The base a home for pigs and the top for hens. The pigs keep the hens warm in winter. A bit of vernacular gorgeousness from Cowside in Langstrothdale, Yorkshire Dales.

New discovery: A #Roman wooden water pipe has been found during works on Brussels Street in Leuven.
At a depth of about 4 meters, archaeologists found the wooden water pipe running the entire length of the construction pit, totaling 20 to 30 meters.

It's funny how I tend to remember the NME being very hard on us at this period, but here's Each and Every One in their Top 50 singles and Eden at no 20 in the Best Albums, so memory plays tricks. We remember bad reviews more. So it's fun to see this.
Here's a playlist of the NME's top singles of 1984. Something for everybody among these 50 selections
