I won't lie, I was expecting the Dragon Quest 7 demo to last as long as the DQXI S demo did. Both games are super long, so a 10-hour demo for DQ7 would've been like 2% of the game.
Guess the DQXI demo spoiled me.

Watching a stream of Shadow of Rome makes me think that a modern gladiator game has a lot of potential. Just straight action with lots of fight mechanics. Basically what Shadow of Rome is doing but much more refined and expanded.
