🧵 Tropical storm #Melissa has formed, and is expected to bring heavy rainfall and the risk of significant flash flooding and the danger of landslides to portions of Haiti and the Dominican Republic through the weekend.
Tropical Storm Melissa forecast track issued Oct 21, 2025, by the National Hurricane Center. The cone shows the projected path westward across the Caribbean toward Jamaica, with the storm expected to strengthen to a hurricane by Thursday. Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for parts of the southern Dominican Republic, and a Hurricane Watch is in effect for Jamaica. Probability map for tropical-storm-force winds from Tropical Storm Melissa, showing the highest chances—over 90 percent—near the storm’s current location in the central Caribbean, with decreasing probabilities extending toward Jamaica, Haiti, and eastern Cuba.
