I’ve been making a bunch of small tweaks to things in the Beeknighted prototype. Adjusting animations, playing with speeds and timings, fixing bugs as I discover them. I’ve got strafing implemented now though it still needs work. All basic attacks are in and I started ui/menus. Video update soon.

Metroid Prime 4 thoughts: when it’s being MP, it’s very good-great. When it’s doing anything else, it’s middling. There’s about 5-8 hours of really great game packed into a 20-30 hour playtime. The desert would have been 100% ok if the crystal grind wasn’t mandatory and it was treated like SotC.

WIP on the controls. Still lacking particles/sound effects/etc. so it's lacking a bit of punch atm but it's starting to take shape.

Basic movement including walking, running, jumping, flying, crawling, and dashing have all been re-implemented. That leaves strafing, swimming, climbing and a few other odd states left before I can begin working on combat and items. Video update soon.

The next Beeknighted devlog on itch (new camera part 2) is not going to go up for a little bit because now that I’m done with the first animation pass I’ve started reworking the controls.

Also gifs still do not work on itch atm.

Maybe I’ll put up a shorter devlog on something else in between.

Finally watching Enterprise. Finished season 1. Definitely a lot of very rough looking episodes even for the time and a lot that just kinda don’t go anywhere. There’s a few really good ones, and I generally like the crew though it feels like they kinda forgot about Travis. I like Archer a lot

Got my parents’ Mac SE up and running. Against all odds the 40 year old original floppy discs actually still work. Shadowgate, Uninvited, Deja Vu I/II, and the Hitchhiker’s Guide all still working and playing.

Almost finished with round 1 of bee animations - all the primary movement, sword, and injury animations. Then I’ll get the controls tightened up and round 2 is swimming, climbing, and special actions, maybe a weapon or two, and I’ll be ready to start remaking the demo again. Still a ways off though
