My laptop has been unable to correctly extend to other monitors since I unplugged my USB c hub from my laptop at the end of my defense presentation. It's not specific to the hub (plugging directly into the laptop has the same effect). I've updated windows and my graphics drivers. Send help plz

T-minus 57 minutes until defense. Goose kept waking me up last night so we have a grand total of 3.5 hours of sleep. I'm ready to be done waiting for this to start. Trying to just remember that I'm going to kick some major ass.

I will be in the middle of the closed portion of my defense in 48 hours. Everything just feels so unreal right now. Also in the middle of learning that the feelings surrounding finishing a PhD are MUCH more complicated than I expected. Will be trying to stream tomorrow evening to keep myself calm!

Status update: my advisor thought my dissertation was due to my committee next Friday and not this Friday and apparently also just learned that my defense is on the 7th and not the 14th. So we're both doing great.

My favorite former coworker is in town! I was convinced to go out for bunch and saved it for lunch only to dump it on the floor while walking to my office. I just sat there staring at it while on the verge of tears for like 5 minutes. Final two weeks of dissertation writing are going great 🙃

Took Goose out for a nice long walk this morning and some playtime in the creek while we (unsuccessfully) tried to wait out the hot water heater replacement. While he was an absolute menace on the walk and when we got back, it was nice to just go out for a bit and watch him have fun ❤️
Goose, the black lab/border collie/some sort of hound mix, is approaching the camera. He has a grey harness on that is attached to a green biothane leash. He is very goofy looking, with his tail crooked in the air, feet somewhat splayed out, and mouth open. Goose is standing on some rock like steps that were added to allow easy access to a creek. Guys, why. Why is the top of my laptop screen flashing white sometimes??? It's ONLY on the laptop screen and not on the other monitor. My laptop isn't dying right??? 30 days before my dissertation is due to my committee is a VERY bad time for my laptop to die. Like cannot begin to express how bad.

Does anyone else like REALLY struggle to keep their eyes focused on their code after a long day of coding or is that just a me thing? I already use dark mode with a colour scheme that typically really helps but the past few days, it's been tough to keep track of where I'm at.
