I took offense to the author describing the McDavid contract as a way to keep the small-market Oilers relevant. I wonder if he knows that the Oilers' valuation is 4th in the league with attendance steady at 100% capacity? Seems like he wrote this article with a bitter pen. Maybe I'm too sensitive.
All GM’s and agents in the league know McDavid is a unique case. The difference, if there is an impact, will be marginal.
