Dad. State Representative for the people of Oklahoma’s House District 93. Democrat
The National Association of Christian Lawmakers has been flooding my inbox with invitations to their annual conference at Liberty University.

Why? To push model legislation like Ten Commandments in classrooms, public school chaplains, and mandatory release time for church during school hours.

One of my fondest Twitter memories was sparking a conversation between Micky Dollenz and Oklahoma State Rep. Mickey Dollens. Truly magical.
Our birthday tribute to Mickey Dolenz, who just turned 80.

Oklahoma is facing a serious housing shortage, and I presented 3 common-sense bills to address the problem. Unfortunately, they all failed in committee. Here’s what they would have done & how legislators voted on each of the bills 🧵 1/5

The OK Supreme Court ruled 7-1 against. SCOTUS’s decision to review this case isn’t about justice - it’s about advancing an agenda.

An Oklahoma lawmaker has filed a bill that could amend the state constitution, allowing funds to get redirected to churches.

One critic said the goal is to "force taxpayers to subsidize their religion."

HB1046 reduces pet overpopulation & euthanasia rates in animal shelters across OK. "It is a crisis," said Paige Bodden, the owner of Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue. "Every second of every day, every single day, animals die. I don't know how it can't be considered a crisis."

🚨Remember in 2016 when Oklahomans voted NO on State Question 790, sending a clear message to theocratic politicians at the state capitol that they do NOT want their tax dollars funding religious activities, displays, and purposes? Well, it's back, this time with a sneaky twist.🧵1/6

While some Oklahoma lawmakers want to shutdown/ban homeless shelters in rural OK, I've filed a bill (HB1045) to help people get back on their feet: free replacement state IDs for those experiencing homelessness. Imagine that! #okleg

"Paying large sums to lawyers to attempt to defend ideologically driven legislation has become commonplace in Oklahoma. These resources would be better spent attacking Oklahoma's poor math and reading outcomes."

Forcing the display of the 10 Commandments in every public school classroom will not improve Oklahoma’s ranking of 49th in education.

It’s anti-constitutional, anti-parent rights, and fundamentally un-American.

Animal shelters across Oklahoma face a significant overpopulation problem, leading to overcrowding and high euthanasia rates.

This issue affects not only animal welfare but also creates a financial strain on local governments and animal rescue organizations.

We can change this! (1/6)
