Let me be more specific: normally our block (if not the rest of the street) is salted and plowed, I guess, because of our proximity to a police station and a nursing home.

Yeah I was extrapolating. They didn't send that today for no reason, was my interpretation. And it literally arrived at the exact same moment the text from Spectrum arrived and that one did say they were expecting outages. So the two have become fused in my brain.
