The cover of Plop! #20; a fairly short lived comedy-horror anthology series from DC. At the top are Cain, Abel, and Eve, who hosted the story segments and were drawn by Sergio Aragones. The first nineteen issues of the series featured odd or downright grotesque looking creatures usually drawn by Wally Wood; from this issue on, they switched to having comics on the front cover. In this case, a series of one panel comics from a series called Prison Plops about people in a dungeon.

The cover of The Invincible Iron Man #168. Machine Man is being attacked by Iron Man. This was during the period where Tony stayed drunk pretty much all of the time and Machine Man picked a bad day to try to make friends with him and Iron Man.

The cover of Sonic the Hedgehog #1. The cover has the Freedom Fighters surrounded by Robotnik and a host of baddies. I have Issue 0 and the minicomic that was printed in Disney Adventures as well though I'm not sure where they are right now.

An eyestrain edition of three volumes of Tintin by Herge. The cover is tan and has a postmarked stamp of Tintin and Snowy along with the covers of Tintin in America, Cigars of the Pharoahs, and The Blue Lotus. These aren't the first three albums featuring the character but they're the oldest that are worth reading.

The cover of Bone #21. Bone and Thorn are trapped by a dangerous being with a crowd of angry villagers in the distance. Also there's a rat creature hissing at them. I'm actually surprised that I had Image Comics in there that weren't Groo though Bone is also one of those series that I have large chunks of in multiple formats. The phonebook of a collected version, individual issues like this, graphic novel editions, and even Disney Adventures.

The cover of the first issue of Slimer! from Now! Comics, which is based on the spinoff of The Real Ghostbusters that had a different artstyle and much more childish vibe. The cover features that character. I don't think I had any Now! comics that weren't Ghostbusters oriented since I didn't really have an appreciation for The Terminator at the time.

I got a little bit too excited a while back and posted all of the Unsounded covers rather than spacing them out but I can't let the start of its sequel go without commemorating it. Unsounded was an amazing work of art and The Red Coast is going to more than live up to it based on the prologue. It's creator Ashley Cope is on Bluesky @glassshard.bsky.social and there's an Unsounded/Red Coast account @unsounded.bsky.social So here's the back cover of the second volume, which features Emil Toma and Elka. Elka is performing pymary while Emil is striking a typically heroic pose.

The cover of Unsounded Vol. 1: The Zombie and the Brat, who are also who we see on the cover. The zombie is doing fancy magicky things as he is wont to do and the brat is being her regal self. Unsounded is easily one of the greatest fantasy works I've ever read to the point that I could easily gush on more than the amount of space these alt text boxes allow and the second half is going to begin soon.

The first issue of Planet Terry from Marvel Comics Star Comics imprint. The cover has the title character, his friends Omnus and Robota, and a banana peel because the universe hates this kid. Imagine the planned Nintendo-Sony collaboration that fell through and resulted in the Playstation but apply them to the comic industry. That's sort of how Star Comics came about.

The cover of Richie Rich Bank Books #25 from Harvey Comics. Richie and Gloria are having a picnic on a blustery day while using money bags to weight down the blanket, which is a more sensible use of money than anything almost every billionaire these days could conceive of. Wild to think that Richie starred in something like fifty different titles over multiple decades with a bunch of them lasting dozens of issues or more.

I have a fair number of the Valiant Nintendo comics but this one always stuck with me in a way that the others did simply because the concept was so odd relative to the other Nintendo comics.

The first issue of Star Trek Deep Space Nine from Malibu comics. The cover has the cast standing on the promenade with the wormhole in the background. This was the only Malibu comic in that footlocker. Not surprising really since almost everything in it was either bought off of newsstands or from flea markets. There really wasn't an actual comics shop closer than a hour away then. Or now come to think of it.

The cover of Wacky Squirrel #3 which has a story titled The Ozone Bandits and is from Dark Horse. The titular character is riding in an old fashioned spaceship and about to hit a blue alien with a giant mallet. This is the one of the few comics that I can definitely say was the first I ever saw from a particular publisher, let alone owned.

The cover of the fifth issue of Uncle Scrooge Adventures from Gladstone Comics. The cover is a shot of a young Scrooge standing on top of a mountain in the Yukon with a golden plaque reading S. McDuck 1889 slightly below him. This is another comic that was read so much that the pages are coming out of it. Somebody also thoughtfully wrote my name on it.

The cover of an issue of Walt Disney Productions The Adventures of Robin Hood. Based on the All New Disney Cartoon Feature Movie. This particular issue is from Whitman and has Robin Hood taking aim at a distant target while Skippy takes aim at a target that is less than an arrow length away. Robin has already hit a bullseye while Skippy has managed to hit the outside ring twice. A box at the bottom says that the featured story is The Lucky Hat.

The cover of Walt Disney Donald Duck #126. Subtitled Officer for a Day, the cover has Officer Donald ticketing his nephew for parking his bike against a fire hydrant. In later years, the green hat would make this Louie but nobody really cared all that much about that sort of thing back then. A bewildered nephew is pointing out that Donald is ignoring a Beagle Boy actively robbing a bank to ticket a minor infraction but what he doesn't understand is that bank robbers are often armed and likely to object to the heavy hand of the law. For, sad to say, ACAB also applies to Donald Duck. This particular issue was printed by Gold Key.

The cover of the 560th issue of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories. The cover has a crowd scene centered around Willy the Giant, who is seated on the ground. The original version of Donald Duck is dancing on one of his hands while one of the Three Little Pigs is sliding off of his other hand. Another Pig is playing the fiddle on Willy's knee while Mickey as the Brave Little Tailor is on his big toe. The Wise Little Hen, Practical Pig, and the Big Bad Wolf are on the ground with the Wolf leaning against Willy's foot. This comic was published by the short-lived Walt Disney Comics and has a Christmas story starring the Three Little Pigs.
