This year marks the 40th anniversary of my favorite feel-bad movie so I drew a poster for the occasion.
as of today you can watch To Live and Die in L.A. on Criterion, just in case Tubi and Kanopy weren’t enough. At this point if you haven’t watched it I can only assume it’s because you have a grudge against me, the self-appointed marketing manager for this movie, personally

big fan of the scene where Danny Lee is trying to describe Chow Yun Fat to a police sketch artist but instead of giving helpful identifying info he just waxes poetic about him

this To Live and Die in L.A. google alert I keep forgetting to turn off has really opened my eyes to how hard it is for sports writers to come up with other headlines for their articles

Designed this graphic to do our part to help communicate safety tips/best practices in Colorado

All credit to @glazedceramics.bsky.social - this is basically just a more design-forward re-organization/rehashing of their original graphic that was going around last week

do people outside of the US ever talk much about Union-Carbide/the Bhopal Disaster? because it feels like a lot of people here have completely memory-holed it

not just Dinotopia, his book Color and Light is maybe the most exhaustive and useful book on those two subjects for artists that I’ve ever read. this is so unbelievably disappointing
Catching up with what James Gurney, the Dinotopia artist, is up to these days. Pathetic.

that's right. you're all only one $7 purchase of a Platinum Preppy away from taking the fountain pen pill
Stores like Paper & Pencil — packed with stickers, fountain pens and planners — have seen sales surge. Chicago shop owners credit social media and influencers who have marked this year as a return to analog.

in "normal people: 'hey how's it going'" news, my dad has been looking for people to play soccer with in the Florida town he retired to, but the league he tried didn't play long enough games or give him enough time on the field so he's just started playing pick-up games with a bunch of Uzbeki guys

it’s awesome how every company is now owned by a completely uninvolved set of shareholders who loathe having to share any of the revenue with people who actually work for a living, and would rather destroy the company than pay those people

Man, I was just reassuring my boyfriend that you can still order with the paper because the QR code stuff was pissing him off when we went to see No Other Choice

I never order food but I liked using the pen and paper to take notes :(
This sounds like a terrible idea.

I know some people are distracted by servers moving around at Drafthouse shows, but... they're still gonna be there, bringing the orders to the seats? And now you'll also have people whipping out their phones mid-movie?
