📣 Excited to share our new short report published in JSR! We examined whether older adults with insomnia exhibited differences in rest-activity rhythms (RARs) and cognition, and whether RARs were associated with cognition across domains

Insomnia is associated with risk for cognitive deficits. However, the literature assessing cognitive impairments in insomnia is replete with conflicting findings; it is unclear whether individuals wi...

Very excited to share the final publication from my dissertation! Using a graph theory approach, we found that differences in medial temporal lobe functional network organization were tied to memory processing and sleep oscillations implicated in consolidation!

Over the past few years, I’ve shared my personal journey as a sleep scientist living with sleep apnea with other scientists and students to raise awareness and reduce stigma. I’m excited to reach an even broader audience in my recent interview with Parade 🎉

Now out in Sci Rep! We found that physical activity was associated with better memory consolidation during sleep and that theoretically replacing 30m of lower intensity activity with moderate intensity physical activity yielded a significant consolidation benefit!

📢 New preprint! We used network neuroscience techniques to probe central tenets of memory consolidation theory (particularly during sleep)! TL;DR Intrinsic measures of network integration and MTL centrality are tied to sleep oscillations and each phase of emotional memory processing 🧠
