Fun fact: The clerical collar, as we understand it today, was invented in the mid-1800s by Protestants — not Catholics. Which is why Protestants use them.

However, U.S. Catholics adopted it in the 1880s, eventually mandating it for priests.
This is your regular reminder that not everyone who wears a clerical collar is referred to as a "priest," but, instead, often referred to as "pastor" or "minister," and that this has been true — and, in the heavily-protestant U.S., the *literal norm* — for centuries.

Except for the COVID-altered 2020 season, Notre Dame and Navy have faced each other on the football field every year since 1927.
The first game was Oct. 15, 1927 at Baltimore Stadium.
