It's been so long!
2019 our daughter tore her ACL at Tae Kwon Do. Then there was, you know, and then conflicts with community band concerts. But in 2025 hubby and I are back!
Reminiscing about the last times we were at PAX Unplugged in 2017 & 2018. What a great con, wish we were there!

Have extra fun for us!

I don’t quite have my act together for PAXUnplugged yet but if any of my friends here want to meet up I’d love to make that happen

If we were to stay one night during Granite Game Summit to partake in late night/early next morning fun, which would you recommend? (We’ll commute for the rest of it)

We’re still having an amazing time with Sunderfolk. I’m surprised I’m not seeing more of it on my timeline.
Hubby and I have been having a blast playing Sunderfolk couch co-op with 21yo. Just one copy of the game on the tv via Steamdeck and we each control our characters with our phones. Very slick, easy interface. #boardgame families may want to check this out!

I see lots of folks enjoying word puzzles. That’s not my jam but I have a 682 daily streak going with Flow (app).

October #boardgames! Just goes to show that lots of great times with family and friends can be managed by so few games

Poor Loki is not a fan of Doorbell Day at all. Fortunately for him most of the neighborhood kids are of driving age now (just like our kids) so it isn’t too busy

I’m in the middle of replaying Mass Effect (Legendary) on the Xbox but couldn’t afford not to buy another copy for my SteamDeck at 92% off… under $5. And the orignal PC copies may still be kicking around

Any leads?
Can you help my friend at the library by identifying what #boardgame these (unlabeled) pieces belong to?

My band is doing a costumed rehearsal again this year (performer and/or instrument). Hubby and I picked up couples costumes and I finished my clarinet’s tonight. The tuba costume is well underway too!
Putting the “community” in community band, everyone dressed in costume for tonight’s rehearsal and it was a riot! My clarinet dressed as a sword so I dressed as a warrior to match (originally sewn by my mom for my son)

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

I enjoyed an absolutely lovely Family Weekend Saturday hanging out with 18yo. Our Quiver did a great job transporting 2 games of Legendary Marvel. We also played Hot Streak on the floor of his dorm room
