We got notice this morning that the decision is being reversed but talk about whiplash! And how scary that finding can just evaporate like that

In Uruguay, families co-own and co-build their homes through housing cooperatives. Some chip in savings, others swing hammers.

The result? Affordable, dignified housing that stays off the private market, and a blueprint the world can learn from.
What the world can learn from Uruguay as the global housing crisis deepens
One of Latin America’s smallest nations has a robust network of housing cooperatives, which give access to permanent, affordable housing to citizens at a range of income levels.

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

I cast a spell where whenever someone talks about me behind my back I get all their luck. Someone must be talking mad shit because I went shopping at a thrift store during the week before my period for jeans and found two pairs that fit perfectly and didn’t cry once

I’ve never lived in NYC nor do I ever plan to. But learning that @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social won is the closest I’ve come to having hope all year.

I wish I could go back and hug that exhausted, anxious teenager and tell them it wasn’t their or their mother’s fault. But instead I’ll be donating to food pantries and participating in the mass blackoutstarting November 25th. What are you going to do?

I can’t speak for all parents or people in general but my guess is they don’t include sitting idly by while their families starve.

What this regime seems to be missing is a parent’s ability to feed their children is one of the few things keeping them from revolting. You take that away and what options do they have left?

People needing SNAP to feed their families is not a moral failing on the part of the people. It’s an ethical failing of a government that’s allowed its people to need it in the first place.
October 26, 2025 at 8:33 PM
But the truth was and still is today that the system is rigged and SNAP is one way the government tries to make up for allowing unfettered capitalism to ruin this country.

When I was a teenager my mom and I were on SNAP after she divorced my dad. We both worked and still couldn’t make ends meet. I did a lot of the grocery shopping by myself and I felt so much shame because I mistakenly believed my mom had “failed”. 🧵 #snap #govermentshutdown

Just a guess but the same people who say “mass surveillance is fine. If you’re not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about” are probs the same justifying ICE wearing masks. Accountability for thee but not for me.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

If I had to write a play about what it’s like to work with anyone above the age of 50 this would be the one and only scene:
🧑🏻“Why did you miss our meeting today?”
👵🏻“I thought you were coming in person”
🧑🏻“…you sent me a google meet link in the invitation. Why would I be in person??”

Mine is: “yeah the police officer we’re trying to work with is out of the country for the month at some training. What a cool opportunity for him!”
