You'll see an endless amount of footage pouring out of Gaza; some of it disturbing, some manipulative, some understandable - you'll see children being instructed to chant certain slogans that caused their misery & destruction. You'll see bad actors using traumatized people for propaganda.

Israel's war strategy & Netanyahu's criminality are precisely why Hamas is still in control of Gaza despite dropping the equivalent of multiple nukes' worth of explosive ordinance on the Strip. A continuation of the war would do nothing but kill civilians & fail to dislodge Hamas

The prospect of a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the hostages – which I’ve been calling & praying for over so many months – is a bright light amidst so much darkness.
My heart aches over so much loss and suffering, for both Israeli & Palestinian families – and it dares to hope a little, too.

Hamas will regain control of Gaza even while the IDF is there, just as fast as the Taliban took over Afghanistan before the US completed the withdrawal. They are literally remerging from displacement tents, as you can see in the 1st video, with uniforms, insignia, vehicles & guns

Mixed emotions. Hostages will return & while I pray for the day all the hostages are home with their loved ones (including those who have been unjustly held as Palestinian prisoners) I can’t help but feel deep sadness for the people of Gaza remain hostage to Hamas. It did not have to be this way.

I used to work on the issue of settlements extensively when I was @peacenowisrael.bsky.social . Everything I have learned before & since October 7 leaves me strongly convinced that the settler movement will take any chance to settle and have already begun to plot their takeover. Time to act is now
