FamilySearch full text search changed everything I knew about my ancestor, Martin Kelly. I've summed up just how wrong I was and how we can make assumptions without having all the facts. #genealogy

For those of you who are doing a #oneplacestudy on a house, but there aren't any old photos of it, how do you overcome this to illustrate your project?

So proud! In Dec 2024, my great aunt Marie Alexine Lassalle was honored with the Congressional Gold Medal for her part in the Army Signal Corps Telephone Operators unit stationed in France in WWI.

It was a long wait for recognition for these women. #genealogy

I am on day 8 of my #WomensHistoryMonth series on my grandpa's first cousins. I originally wrote these 2-3 yrs ago. It's amazing how much more info has come online since or I've gained new perspectives of old docs. Plus my nitpicky rewriting. #genealogy

I am excited about Ancestry's new Networks. I have many #genealogy projects this would help. In the presentation, I understood this would roll out to ProTools users first, then to regular subscribers. However, Amy Johnson Crow talked to someone at Ancestry and the answer she got was "maybe". 1/3

I'm having a fantastic time at #RootsTech online. Congrats to @danielloftus.projectinfant.ie on his first RootsTech presentation!

I've sat in on a wide variety of sessions on different topics. I don't know how you guys do this in person. 4-5 sessions a day and my brain shuts down. #genealogy

Has anyone checked their #RootsTech schedule on the website and found most of the events that you marked are no longer showing on "My Schedule"? I looked at the schedule Sunday and had 32 online sessions marked. Tonight only 5 come up for all 3 days.

For Women's History Month, I am rewriting a series of post I on FB a few years back. These are my grandfather's female first cousins and there's enough to fill a month 😁

Day 1 is the first female born into the Pacheco family, Maria (Pacheco) Iida. #genealogy

I'm getting serious about putting my #OnePlaceStudy online. I have the "where to post" figured out. I just don't know how to kick it off and what to write about in my first post. I suppose I just do some sort of introduction.

Starting is hard.
