Holidays are quieter now due to avoiding covid in a world that has gone back to normal. I’m so grateful for the time I have with my parents — and that they are willing to quarantine to see me. I already can’t wait for Christmas 🎄❤️

And now I’m hungry 😋
🥖 BEST PLACES TO GET FRESH BREAD: Because if you show up to Thanksgiving dinner with fresh bread, you'll be the most liked person at your holiday dinner. 😋

One thing I’ve learned during the pandemic is many doctors do not keep up with the latest scientific literature, especially when information is coming so frequently about #covid long term damage. Listen to the scientists and the patients. We are living with it — we know when things aren’t right.
Personally, this has taught me an incredibly important lesson, one that I wish all my fellow health journalists will take to heart, which is:

If there is a divide between what patients are saying, and what the researchers/clinicians are saying, believe the patients.

I accidentally walked 16 miles on my walking pad while working today. I was in the zone, didn’t realize how late it was til it was dark. I’d planned to only walk til lunch. 😂

Anyone else feel like a walking pad helps you hyperfocus on work? I have tunnel vision while on it!

Former CDC director explains how COVID is not a respiratory disease.

It’s a very important distinction and why so many of us are doing everything not to catch it (or catch it again). #maskup 😷
Dana Parish interviewed former CDC Director Dr Redfield about Covid.

The key takeaway? It is NOT a respiratory disease. It is a vascular disease.

I will never forget the first person I knew to die of Covid. Fought 90+ days in the ICU & had 2 strokes and a leg amputation. He was only 38.

Eyeing the #maxprofitness for at-home strength training. I have basically zero space for barbells, etc. Anyone else have it? Thoughts on concentric-only training? That’s my main holdup from getting it …

Confirmed H5N1, same clade as the one affecting migratory birds. The child is hospitalized, in critical condition. It is still not known how they caught it.
Layers of protection: clean the air, vaccinate, stay home when 🤒Smart masking with N95.

This! Please protect yourselves, friends. We’ve learned so much the past 5 years. Mask up! 😷 #covidisnotover
I never expected we'd reach a situation where people are more concerned about getting a virus on their PC or mobile device than they are about getting a virus that infects their own body - one which can significantly change their quality of life, or even end it.
Yet here we are.

Latest hobby: #strengthtraining. My challenge: Space. I have dumbbells (up to 25 lbs and I can get a couple more heavier ones).

I’d love a barbell, plates and a bench, but I’m flat out of space for something like that. I thought about going barbell/resistance bands hybrid …. (🧵/1)

Anyone else sensitive to the effects of #barometricpressure with chronic illness? A friend taught me to check it about a year ago and lowering pressure often = crashes for me, while rising = energy. I didn’t have these crashes before getting suspected #longcovid 3 years ago.
