I'm all for reducing the number of libraries folks have in their apps.

But the alternative to no libraries is to literally implement (or generate and maintain) everything yourself -- which is madness beyond toy projects.

Find libraries/authors you just, and work with them.

Check out a new way of managing data in frontend applications. reactive, type-safe, and designed to stay relevant as tradeoffs evolve.

It’s framework-agnostic too. Like me 😁

WarpDrive
WarpDrive is a lightweight data library for web apps — universal, typed, reactive, and ready to scale.

Would love to hear:
• what resonated
• what migration challenges you’re facing
• what patterns you’d like to explore next
• what can be improved
December 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
If you build Ember apps and:
🔹 are thinking about the long-term shape of your data layer
🔹 feel friction with Ember Data model APIs
🔹 are curious about reactive, schema-driven data patterns beyond a single framework

...this might be worth a watch.

🧠 This is a practical talk, not a hype piece:
• incremental migration without rewrites
• how ReactiveResources change data flow and ownership
• why this approach reduces complexity as apps grow
December 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
The focus of the talk is @emberjs.com specific migration.

At the same time, WarpDrive itself isn’t Ember only the underlying ideas around reactive, schema-driven data also apply to React, Vue, and Svelte, which is part of why this approach feels durable as frontend ecosystems continue to evolve.
December 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
The talk focuses on how to migrate Ember apps from classic Ember Data models to WarpDrive’s ReactiveResources with real examples and trade offs from larger, long-lived codebases.

🙌 It’s @academiedesrenards.bsky.social and @chris.manson.ie on stage at #emberfest talking about @mainmatter.com #emberjs initiative. We achieved quite a lot, both pushing Ember forward as well as helping initiative members keeping their codebases modern and healthy. Great job Marine and Chris!

There are two types of developers. Those that think you need to debounce an autocomplete, and those that understand physics.

Working on redirIQ, a simple URL shortener with analytics and performance tracking. just posted the system design and sequence diagrams. Still early, but it’s shaping up.

If you’ve got good test coverage, even Friday the 13th can be just another ship day xD

Totally understand! I was thinking something like a sponsored conference ticket and maybe a bit of support to help cover travel or stay. I'd really love to be there!

Honestly, I’ve never received a scholarship or support like this before, so I am not sure how it usually works just thought I’d ask 😊

Hey EmberFest team 👋
Is there any possibility of sponsored tickets for community contributors? I'd love to be part of the experience and connect with the Ember community in person

These aren't just for big companies or enterprise apps. Add them to your side projects too. It’s the best way to build good habits and get how they work.

A blog with example is WIP

Which of these have you implemented in your projects?
