One year Puccini posted Toscanini a Xmas panettone, forgetting that they'd fallen out again and fired off a telegram : “PANETTONE SENT BY MISTAKE -- PUCCINI!” He received another back almost as quickly: “PANETTONE EATEN BY MISTAKE -- TOSCANINI!”

I’m in #London for a couple of days and am noticing a high level of friendliness, courtesy and consideration between strangers. I’ve been at a swanky city event and am currently in Tower Hamlets, so quite a contrast but it’s been the same in all locations. Mind you, I haven’t been to Oxford St yet!
