Now is a good time to encourage a swift and mass shift from car culture to a culture of well developed and designed public transportation.

People understand that paying taxes means supporting quality healthcare, education, transportation & energy infrastructure,
right?
right…?
right……?

And that arbitrarily cutting taxes to appease a short term political gotcha moment, ultimately undermines collective public good & stability……right…..?

Cross boarder worker solidarity is a very powerful move right now.

What does it look like to support labour in this moment rather than pitting workers against each other?

Unity over division is where power lies for the public to uphold public well-being.

In times when those in power wielded their power to abuse and oppress, that is when it is critical for collective commitment to resistance and care-based solidarities.

Commit to care, dignity, kindness and equitable investments in shared public goods.

This is important work we can do together.

I dreamt of a metallic blue stag beetle last night. I had lost them, and then I found them again when they fell from some cloth. They were miffed at me for losing them.

So now I’m painting a blue stag beetle.

Organizing can look like a lot of things. Care, solidarity, mutual aid, knowing rights, building community relationships, coordinating and sharing resources, leveraging privilege to protect others, engaging art….

The #mentalhealth impacts of wildfire on individuals and communities is a significant public health issue.

Proactively and equitably addressing and supporting mental health and trauma needs across #wildfire impacted populations is so important.

#Wildfires can generate significant & inequitably distributed public health impacts.

A critical connection we need to spotlight is how equity aware investments in #climate mitigation simultaneously help to protect public health & well-being.
