A small win, but I set a goal for myself to come up with 5 new novel ideas in February. They don't have to be good, and I don't have to write them. Just 5 new ideas.

I'm currently at 9. #smallwins

Watched the new Bridget Jones movie last night. I cried for two hours. What a beautiful film about grief and finding joy again.

This. We need accurate, up-to-date information. People will die without it.
Idea going around: Democratic leadership could ASAP name an "alternate" HHS secretary--someone to provide public updates and health information. And "shadow" leaders for other depts too, with press conferences, policy initiatives, budgets, speeches.

It's weirdly difficult to remember that Trump's popular vote margin was /less/ than Hillary's in 2016. Biden got more votes in 2020 than Trump got in 2024 and Trump surrogates all under-performed in congressional races.

This is not a mandate, I don't get why it is being portrayed that way.

What this long and detailed NYT piece calmly calls an “extraordinary flexing of power by a private individual” is in fact a blatantly unconstitutional usurpation of Congress’s Article I powers and delegation of the President’s Article II duties.

The billionaire is creating major upheaval as his team sweeps through agencies, in what has been an extraordinary flexing of power by a private individual.

You may not like it, but Leah's right. There's a reason the Prodigal Son is a parable in almost every culture. when someone experiencing cognitive dissonance comes to you, you have two choices: embrace them, and win them over forever; or reject them, ensuring they never again question their beliefs.

Among the many avenues Democrats need to be pushing *now* is:

Trump, Musk, and their Republican enablers just compromised the personal and financial info of every American.

This isn't hyperbole; it already happened. They broke all the cybersecurity protocols and are concealing what they're doing.
Several conversations today w people in the key executive departments. And while the particulars are hard to pin down my impression is that the Musk take over stuff is considerably worse than is being presented in the press. By this I don’t necessarily things they *done* yet but the level of …
