This should be the cover of Lady Gaga’s next album 🔥
Usually I don't post things older than the late Palaeolithic period, but #insects embedded in amber never cease to amaze me - the sheer age!

This ant preserved in its finest detail is some 50-million-year old.

Found in Gujarat, India.

I’m not saying I have a problem, but I 100% thought these were lovely-looking artisanal gins at first glance...
1/3-Say hello to "Mercury Oxide (Yellow)," the bright yet potent powerhouse of Victorian medicine! 💛 This sunny-looking powder, also known as Yellow Mercuric Oxide, was once a go-to for treating skin infections and wounds, prized for its strong antiseptic qualities.

I highly recommend choosing to spend your life with someone who knows their way around a shoulder of lamb as well as this.
Sundays are for roasting lamb 🍽️

Dear Editors — If you’re considering publishing an article about issues related to transgender people, then perhaps you should consider assigning that article to a transgender journalist. Don’t have any transgender journalists in your newsroom?

I have just discovered there is a museum with a dedicated Cheese Room, and that alone makes the leap to Bluesky worth it.
One of the most popular displays at Nantwich Museum is the Cheese Room. It’s believed that by 1600 local people were making cheese, with production in Cheshire peaking around the start of the 20th century. The exhibit includes a cheese vat, a cheese press & other cheesemaking equipment.

Hello Bluesky 👋 While I work out how this all works, please enjoy some photos from the RA’s gorgeous new exhibition ‘Florence, c.1504’ (which I hear has an excellent audioguide…)
