OK I’m apparently several months late on this but I just found out Julia Grosso and Jeremy Pena are dating.

Kinda interested to know the numbers re: pro soccer/baseball couples. Feels like a lot? Wonder if anyone’s doing a deep dive into this.

Big news - the NSL schedule will be announced on Feb 20!

Mark your calendar - and then mark it some more when the sked comes out.

This is going to trip me up for a while 😆
Same game with a new last name 👊

After an offseason wedding, Janine Beckie is now Janine Sonis!

Vancouver Rise have announced the signing of Samantha Chang, a former Cdn youth standout who has been capped at the sr level.

Rise’s midfield is looking strong.
I also like the preseason Toronto-Vancouver rivalry. Toronto signed BC-native Emma Regan, so Vancouver gets GTA-native Sam Chang.

It’s official - Quinn is joining the Vancouver Rise.

Fans may debate which name has been the biggest signing - Quinn, Desiree Scott, Erin McLeod - but Quinn is the first active, “in their prime” #CanWNT/#CanXNT player to join the NSL.
January 16, 2025 at 4:18 PM
This has been rumoured for a bit (and Nikki Stanton all but confirmed it with some social media posts), but Quinn is a massive name for Vancouver & the NSL.

What a week it’s been for Canadian WoSo!
The new Northern Super League is adding major Canadian talent! Midfielder Quinn is set to join Vancouver Rise FC, sources tell The Equalizer's Jeff Kassouf.

Up now - my interview with Casey Stoney, where she discusses her initial doubts about taking the #CanWNT/#CanXNT head coaching role, how she views Canada's on-pitch identity, and yes - if she has a cooler ready to go for the Canadian sideline.

"One thing people can't question about me is my integrity and my principles."

At Casey Stoney's introductory media conference, "integrity" was the main theme. But she also made it clear she doesn't believe she needs to repair the reputation for #CanWNT/#CanXNT

‘Integrity’ the word of the day as Canada Soccer introduces Casey Stoney | TSN

A big extension for Jayde Riviere (who’s turning 24 next week) with Manchester United. Her new contract extends her stay with the club until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.

She’s been able to make a big impact with United. Here’s hoping she can avoid more injuries. #CanWNT #CanXNT

Takeaway so far from Casey Stoney’s introductory media conference - she is stressing integrity and accountability, and also she would not have taken the job if she felt CSA was not moving in the right direction. #CanWNT #CanXNT

It’s official - Casey Stoney is the new head coach of #CanWNT/#CanXNT.

According to the release - her hiring is supported by philanthropic contributions to Canada Soccer, and she is the first beneficiary of a new fund established specifically to support women in elite coaching.

Joshua Kloke & Charlotte Harpur of The Athletic are reporting that Casey Stoney is set to take over as head coach of #CanWNT/#CanXNT.

This would be an excellent hire by Canada Soccer.

Although 2024 ended on a high note, #CanWNT/#CanXNT will no doubt be eager to turn to 2025.

A decisive 5-1 win for #CanWNT/#CanXNT to finish off 2024.

Although it will be remembered as a tumultuous year, a lot of positives to take away from this match, including standout performances from Olivia Smith and Mimi Alidou (not to mention Emma Regan playing the full 90 mins)
