Just finished reading this, from the local library. Enjoyed it. And it's inspiring me to dig in to all the post 1989 Bowie again.

Giving this a spin. Hit after hit. Takes me way back.

And Zerox still sounds as fresh as the day it was recorded.

Finally got this belter of an lp on vinyl, after years of just having the cd.

Short sharp songs of gorgeous perfection. Not an ounce of fat.

Adventures in Stereo

Inside my head, it's Glasgow 1997 all over again.

A good day to (re)share Philip Lynott: The People's Playlist. Compiled from my request for responses on social media, every song here is somebody’s favourite Lynott associated track. It kicks off with one of my all-time favourites...

Music as a time-machine... just heard The Toy Dolls "nelly the elephant" on the wireless.

Took me right back to being 12, and seeing Hearts v Morton in December 1984 with my father - and it getting played over the tannoy at halftime.

Simple Minds "don't you forget about me" on the wireless.

A bit of an albatross for them?

But still an absolute banger.

What a run of singles.
The 8698 tour was a corker.

McCauley Alt.Christmas.

Tuning in to this on the BBC Sounds App, on a Monday afternoon, with a mince pie.

Cracking show. Well-worth a spin.

Highlights for me are Low and Lisa Hannigan. And Run DMC

Stay, by The Artists in Residence

"And maybe... This is the second-worst concept album ever conceived?"

I love it.

I heard about it on the Stephen McCauley Show on BBC Radio Foyle/Ulster.

This is why specialist music radio matters.

I don't think that Elvis is dead

I've got a ticket for the Creeping Bent happening at Glasgow Mono on 12 Dec. Unfortunately, i am unable to get up from Wales for it. Ping me if interested. It cost £20

The Bluebells will be performing at 9.45pm at The End of Definition next Fri 12th Dec in Mono. Creeping Bent has been fans of The Bluebells from when they emerged as part of a scene that included Orange Juice, Aztec Camera, Jazzateers (groups the Bluebells played shows with).

Why presenter-led / curated, specialist music radio shows matter. And why they should be protected.

Worth a read.

BBC Radio Scotland seem to be making some poor choices.
