I have many normal thoughts and feelings and parasocial friendships with ghosts. 5'11" Lestat truther. The most terrifying kind of preternatural monster: a person who liked Blood Canticle. (she/her)

Making a proper pinned post that I can put stuff under! See this thread for book cover redesigns I do for fun, stuff I've written, and whatever else feels pin-able:
It is almost the witching hour, so I'm going to admit that I think the subtle running joke that Vampire Chronicles fans (mostly fans of a specific ship) are always putting Book!Daniel in overalls is really funny and I laugh every time I see it.

Did you know that art is subjective? Did you know that you can experience art and understand the full context of the artist's cultural background and artistic intent and still think it was kind of mid? Did you know that liking a piece of media is not a moral statement? Many people do not know this!

Did you know if you have time, patience, then less patience, then a certain disregard for the skin on your cuticles, and a dexterous wrist, you can remove both a gel manicure and half of the skin on your fingertips at home for free!?

This list is STACKED. So many amazing names here, Nicholas Hoult, Hunter Schafer, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Thandiwe Newton in another Anne Rice movie!? Am I dreaming!?
Tom Ford Sets ‘Cry To Heaven’ As Next Film; Taps All-Star Cast With Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Adele, Owen Cooper & More

Glad to have you back in the office! Are you feeling better?

I found out late at night while having a fever that a friend finally watched Interview with the Vampire Season 2.

The fever or now sinus infection or whatever it is has me in a state where I can only focus on anxiety and not on anything else, it is absolutely the worst!

Well, now I'm mad about the Entertainment Weekly thing again. I am a person unlikely to do something about it (it being an article no one cares about or read) but it's still fucked up!

People are wrong... so confidently. (This is about fictional lore) If you think something is factual, you should double check. You should go look at a source. You should... know what you are talking about.

Or just check the wiki, damn!

One of the missed opportunities in Talamasca is being specific with the Rice vampire lore. The lore of how Anne Rice vampires work is really specific and interesting, and even with the changes to it in IWTV, Talamasca feels particularly not careful with it. So much daylight!?

I'm going to make a thread for random observations from Anne Rice's journals. Photos are kind of a gray area for sharing, so I'll just describe:

- Random musings about how much she'd like to write something for Divine to star in.

I looked at discourse. I was annoyed by discourse. People were wrong about the content of the books and doing discourse on it. What am I meant to do in this situation?

I'd cry on my couch but Canceled Vampire Marius de Romanus is there, watching Talamasca uncritically, the fiend.

Well, it's episode four and I still don't care what's happening, but at least parts of that episode were... entertaining? And the directing is still pretty okay.

Who the hell comes up with the names on this Talamasca show? I long for the grounded realism of Gremt Stryker Knollys.

Sorry, last thing:

1. Ramses is referenced in TVL but is not otherwise in The Vampire Chronicles
2. Idk anything about the wolves except AMC doesn't have the rights to them
3. Witches are humans.
4. Taltos were not introduced in The Witching Hour, they are first named in Lasher.

I'm probably about at the end of my ability to be really mad about this, but if anyone wants to spread the word (do not target the author of the article) I won't be opposed. Maybe we get more eyes on the wiki, get more people fixing all those typos 😅

What I like about fandom is that it is a thing people do for the passion of it- almost always without being paid. That is what fandom is, to me, at its core.

It sucks when people then take that, without attribution, and get paid for it. Especially people who are PROFESSIONAL FANS IN ANOTHER FANDOM.

...anyway, if you have any questions about the universe of The Vampire Chronicles or Lives of the Mayfair Witches, or AMC's Immortal Universe, you can probably get answers to them on the Vampire Chronicles Wiki, which has been lovingly cleaned up and expanded over the last few years:
The Vampire Chronicles
The Vampire Chronicles is a series of novels by Anne Rice centering on the fictional character Lestat de Lioncourt, a French noble who became a vampire in the 18th century. Rice said in a 2008 intervi...
