Today we honor Dr. King’s legacy & recommit to the ongoing work of justice & equality for all survivors. Sexual violence disproportionately impacts marginalized communities & honoring his dream means working for a world where every survivor is believed, supported, & given resources to heal.

Wear blue on 1/11 in solidarity with survivors of human trafficking. You can take a photo & share it to help spread awareness in our communities. Sex trafficking often goes unnoticed because it doesn’t always look extreme. It can happen slowly & quietly, & may be hidden in everyday life.

Myths about sex trafficking often hide the realities survivors face. Knowing the facts helps communities recognize harm & respond w care. Anyone can be impacted, though traffickers often target Black & Latinx youth, LGBTQIA+ individuals, & other historically marginalized communities.

As we celebrate the holidays, let’s remember that giving and receiving gifts does not equal consent. Consent must be freely given, mutual, and continuous; not assumed. Gifts are meant to bring joy, not pressure or expectations around sex or sexual activity.
